| | Injecting hope! The domination of photos people holding placard which says “I have been vaccinated” can be seen virally nowadays. It appears that the society has started to accept the vaccination with open arms. Each injection can be said to represent a hope that leads us closer and closer to our norm before this pandemic.
As we head towards the end of the tunnel, remember that AUG will always be by your side walking hand-in-hand with you while you guide your students to take the next step to embark on their education journey. Stay safe! |

TRADITIONAL LEARNING VS PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING | | | Traditional learning has been the prominent method of knowledge acquisition in every education system around the world. Engineering Dreams: The INTO Way by Antonio Lee | | | One small engineering discovery can lead to a world of benefits. I’ve always wanted to become an engineer because I love problem-solving and innovative designs.
Holding tightly to this dream, I started my journey with INTO Queen’s University of Belfast. I chose this route because class sizes are smaller and this prepared me for the increasing workload after the first year at Queen’s. The modules in the INTO programme helped me make the transition from secondary school and understand the subject at a university level. There was a heavy focus on maths and science but it also improved my academic English tremendously. At the same time, I am still |

During my second year at Queen’s, I applied for my placement and secured an internship with Airbus UK. I got the opportunity to experience using what I learned in my Engineering degree to solve mechanical problems; it was basically learning on the job. Since my graduation, I am now working as a Systems Engineer with the same company.
INTO Queen’s University of Belfast had paved the way to my dreams. Along the way I met lifelong friends. University years is such a wonderful time, have fun and cherish it. |

EXPERIENCING INTO 6559 MILES AWAY by Jeremy | | |
I undertook the International Foundation Business and Management programme last year via INTO Newcastle. However, due to the upheaval of Covid-19, international travel and sky routes as well as physical lessons at universities were suspended.
When we think of university, we would imagine spacious lecture halls, benches arranged in countless rows and ceiling-high library shelves filled with books. Unfortunately, majority of students like myself were unable to enjoy and relish the luxury of the university life. As such, I had to attend online lessons via Zoom.
|
| |

|
|
|
| | Be that as it may, I was pleasantly surprised that the lessons turned out to be as interactive and engaging as what I would expect of a face-to-face lesson. Lecturers and students were reciprocally active, and teachers were very helpful in clarifying any of our doubts and misconceptions. Throughout the course, my classmates and I were able to communicate efficiently with one another despite the geographical distance. There were also Personal Tutorials and Study Clinics that went the extra mile with lecturers checking up on our well-being.
Encapsulating, it was truly a delightful experience and I am glad that I had chosen INTO as part of my academic journey. |
