A foundation program is excellent for students who seeks a fast track and intensive option from O Levels/GCSE into university. Designed for international students, the program introduces the type of learning students can expect if they progress to their degree. The program aims to help students settle into a new education system, develop their confidence and provide the subject knowledge they need to excel in their tertiary education.
Bridging from O Level/GSCE to university
Foundation programs are designed to improve student’s English language skills, increase their knowledge of academic theory, and develop their understanding of key academic areas. With the support of the qualified and experienced academic staff, students can develop necessary study and research skills in preparation for undergraduate study, as well as receiving professional help and support with their application to university.
Assessment methods includes examinations and coursework including: written assignments, practical exercises, group and individual research projects, presentations and problem-solving exercise. Students will also enjoy regular feedback and advice, on top of regular one-to-one tutorial meetings with their personal tutor. Class sizes for foundation programs are significantly smaller, so if students are unable to understand anything, they could clarify easily.
